To regulate the practice of chiropractic medicine in the District of Columbia. The mission is to serve and protect the public and ensure high standards of chiropractic care and professionalism through best-practices in regulation, education and outreach.
The Board consists of 5 members. Of the members of the Board, 3 shall be doctors of chiropractic licensed to practice in the District, 1 shall be the Director of the Department of Health or his or her designee, and 1 shall be a consumer member.
Qualifications for Appointment:
The 3 professional members must be licensed to practice in the District. Each professional member shall have been engaged in the practice for at least 3 years preceding appointment. The consumer member shall not be a health professional or in training to become a health professional, and shall not have a household member who is a health professional or is in training to become a health professional.
The Commission has monthly meetings; subcommittees meet as required to complete tasks.
